Gifts to the Church

Through Christ's descending and ascending gifts were given to each one in the church including apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. These were given to the church to equip the saints for the work of ministry until the church reaches maturity. The purpose of the gifts is to help the church to grow up into Christ, each member doing its part to build up the church in love.
