The Old and New Self

God's wrath is towards sinners, therefore the Colossians are to consider themselves dead to sin. Even though they used to practice sin in the past, now they have put off the old self and put on the new self and should no longer continue in it. Especially anger, evil speech and lying are to be put aside since Christ has torn down all racial and social barriers and He is all that matters and is in everyone.

We can lay aside all anger, evil speech and lying due to the fact that all racial and social barriers have been torn down in Christ.
