How blessed is the man
Wohl dem,
who a does not walk in the b counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the 1 c path of sinners,
noch tritt auf den Weg der Sünder,
Nor d sit in the seat of scoffers!
noch sitzt, da die Spötter sitzen;
progression
But his a delight is b in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates c day and d night.
und in seinem Gesetze forscht Tag und Nacht.
negativepositive
He will be like a a tree firmly planted by 1 streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
der seine Frucht bringt zu seiner Zeit
And its 2 leaf does not wither;
und dessen Blätter nicht verwelken,

comparison
And 3 in whatever he does, b he prospers.
und alles, was er macht, gerät wohl.
bilateral
The wicked are not so,
Nicht so die Gottlosen;
But they are like a chaff which the wind drives away.
ideaexplanation
Therefore a the wicked will not stand in the b judgment,
Nor sinners in c the assembly of the righteous.
noch die Sünder in der Gemeinde der Gerechten;
For the Lord 1 a knows the way of the righteous,
denn der HERR kennt den Weg der Gerechten;
But the way of b the wicked will perish.
aber der Gottlosen Weg führt ins Verderben.

Progression - if one loves the law, then one will meditate on it.
There is a choice: either to love the law of the Lord or to be wicked.
Psalm Type: Wisdom
I am putting a progression here after seeing this in George Luke's arc. He explained the walking standing and sitting in wickedness. This active participation in evil stands in contrast to the being firmly planted by steams of water.
