The Central Idea : God is blessed and to be worshiped because he has lavished salvation upon us for the purpose of displaying the glory of His grace. Insights : I really think verse 3 and the purpose statements in the rest of the passage are the key to seeing the main point. The first grounding of Paul's argument comes in 3b which says that God is to be praised because he has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing. The purpose statements come in 6, 12, & 14b and show that the end or goal for why God worked out his salvation is that we might be to the praise of the glory of his grace (Gr: " εἰς ἔπαινον δόξης τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ")

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
becuase [God] has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
(We have been blessed by God) in that He chose us in him before the foundation of the world,
in order that we would be holy and blameless before him ([end of v.4] in love [beginning of v.5])
actionpurpose
(God chose us) that is (Id/Exp) or by (Ac/Mn) He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of his will ,
ideaexplanation
(God chose and predestined us) in order that we might praise the glory of his grace , which he graciously gave us in the beloved....
Furthermore in [Christ] we have redemption through his blood,
that is the forgiveness of our trespasses
(we have redemption and forgiveness) because of the riches of God's grace, which he lavished on us in all wisdom and knowledge,
(God lavished his grace upon us) by making known to us the mystery of his will,
((God redeemed us (7a), forgave us (7b), and made known to us his will (9a)) because of his good pleasure , which he purposed in [Christ] for a plan at the fullness of time,
ground
(This mystery is) the summing up of all things in Christ,
(the "all things" that will be summed up include) the things in the heavens and the things on the earth in him....
actionmanner
Furthermore in [Christ] we have been made an inheritance,
(we have been made an inheritance in Christ) because [G] or in that [Ac/Mn] (we were) predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
(we were predestined according to his plan) in order that we, the one's first hopeing in Christ, might be to the praise of his glory ....
progression
Furthermore you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation,
and also when you believed

at that time you were sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, who is a down payment of our inheritance, for the redemption of the possession,
