This was a chaotic text to Arc but that does not take away from the gloriousness of the passage. Paul begins a thought in 3:1 and then goes on a rabbit trail in 2-13 and then picks up his thought of 3:1 in v. 14. Don't worry it gets more confusing. Throughout the text Paul seems to give an idea and explain it and then in his explanation of his idea he introduces a new idea.
