Context
James has spoken to a suffering church about steadfastness and wisdom, faith and good works, riches and the tongue--all through the lens of living out the Word of God. He has just lifted up diligent prayer and now gives the final word of his epistle.

Finally, know this
James' final exhortation
My brothers,
Ἀδελφοί μου,
with God's people
if anyone among you wanders
ἐάν τις ἐν ὑμῖν πλανηθῇ
wandering alone
from the truth
ἀπὸ τῆς ἀληθείας
and someone brings him back,
καὶ ἐπιστρέψῃ τις αὐτόν,
brought back by a brother
let him know
γινωσκέτω
that whoever brings back a sinner
ὅτι ὁ ἐπιστρέψας ἁμαρτωλὸν
from his wandering
ἐκ πλάνης ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ
will save his soul
σώσει ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ
saved from hell
from death
ἐκ θανάτου
and will cover a multitude of sins.
καὶ καλύψει πλῆθος ἁμαρτιῶν.
Importance of community A person wanders away alone, but rarely, if ever, comes back alone. He is brought back by a brother.
Ἀδελφοί μου, ἐάν τις ἐν ὑμῖν πλανηθῇ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀληθείας καὶ ἐπιστρέψῃ τις αὐτόν,
γινωσκέτω ὅτι ὁ ἐπιστρέψας ἁμαρτωλὸν ἐκ πλάνης ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ σώσει ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐκ θανάτου καὶ καλύψει πλῆθος ἁμαρτιῶν.
καὶ πάλιν προσηύξατο, καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς ὑετὸν ἔδωκεν καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐβλάστησεν τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῆς.
