And so, r from the day we heard, s we have not ceased to pray for you,
Διὰ τοῦτο καὶ ἡμεῖς, ἀφ’ ἧς ἡμέρας ἠκούσαμεν, οὐ παυόμεθα ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν προσευχόμενοι
asking that t you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all u spiritual wisdom and understanding,
καὶ αἰτούμενοι ἵνα πληρωθῆτε τὴν ἐπίγνωσιν τοῦ θελήματος αὐτοῦ ἐν πάσῃ σοφίᾳ καὶ συνέσει πνευματικῇ,

so as v to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord,
⸀ περιπατῆσαι ἀξίως τοῦ κυρίου
w fully pleasing to him,
εἰς πᾶσαν ἀρεσκείαν
x bearing fruit in every good work
ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ ἀγαθῷ καρποφοροῦντες
and increasing in the knowledge of God .
καὶ αὐξανόμενοι ⸂ τῇ ἐπιγνώσει ⸃ τοῦ θεοῦ ,
y May you be strengthened with all power,
ἐν πάσῃ δυνάμει δυναμούμενοι
according to his glorious might,
κατὰ τὸ κράτος τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ
for z all endurance and patience a with joy,
εἰς πᾶσαν ὑπομονὴν καὶ μακροθυμίαν μετὰ χαρᾶς,

εὐχαριστοῦντες τῷ πατρὶ

τῷ ἱκανώσαντι ⸀ ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν μερίδα τοῦ κλήρου τῶν ἁγίων ἐν τῷ φωτί,

ὃς ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ σκότους
and transferred us to f the kingdom of g his beloved Son,
καὶ μετέστησεν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ υἱοῦ τῆς ἀγάπης αὐτοῦ,
h in whom we have redemption,
ἐν ᾧ ἔχομεν τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν,
the forgiveness of sins.
τὴν ἄφεσιν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν·
