Paul here reemphasizes that they are free from the Law. Now if they are free then they must not use their freedom to indulge in the flesh or in thingscontrary. The meaning is this tat now that he has stated an argument that they are free from the bondage of the Law it doesnot mean that whatever the Law said was wrong and they are free to disobey the Law and thus satisfy their fleshly desires but Paul states that they are supposed to server one another in Love and the Basis for that is the statement"You shall love your neighbour as Yourself". His mention of devouring one another also shows of a problem in Galatia where they were probably tearing each other down on legalism grounds Paul then exhorts them to follow a new new law that is the Law of the spirit stating that they need to Walk by the Spirit and not gratify the sinful nature for they are contrary to each other Walk by the Spirit Be led by the Spirit
