verse 19: "Going, therefore, make..." "Go" is a participle; "make disciples" is the finite verb, therefore the focus falls on "make disciples". verse 20 seems to be an encouragement (possibly also a command, like "see & believe that I am with you, even to the end of the age") I believe that verse 20 is also made possible because of verse 18 - that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus, therefore we can behold that He is with us always, to the end of the age! update: Kevin McCormack's interpretation of verse 20 was to the effect that "the way we make disciples is by Christ's presence in our lives." And I agree with that, therefore I think that 20b is the manner in which we make disciples. Without Jesus' presence, atoning work, and His softening men's hearts, there would be no way for us to make disciples.
