We are so thankful to God that you all are actively believing in Jesus and loving your brother's and sister's because of the hope you have in heaven.
Intro
As Christian's we know that we should trust God and love our neighbor. But what is it that drives us to do these things? In this passage, we get an x-ray view of the Colossian's actions so that we can see the driving force behind their faith and love. From this passage we understand that the root of Christian fruit is hope. However, in a time when hope is misplaced in countless things (possessions, politicians, people, etc.) we must clarify what kind of hope it was that motivated the Colossians.

Questions
What is the relationship between faith in Christ, love toward the saints and hope in the life of the Colossian church? What is the substance and source of their hope? (see 1:27) Why does this "hope" lead to faith and love? How can we encourage faith and love in our own lives and the lives of other believers? In a broad overview of this letter, what is the main way that Paul and Timothy seek to motivate Christian living?
Prayer
Father, help us to not only comprehend but eagerly anticipate and rejoice in the hope that you have laid up for us in heaven. Let this truth sink into our hearts and cause us to truly believe in your complete provision for us so that we may be freed to sacrificially and selflessly love and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ.
