Trials are not occasions for joy, so how is it that we can count them all joy? It is because of what God is doing in the trials. If I know that God is using the trial to continue to grow my faith, to refine me of any remaining pollutions of sin, then the result is deeper maturity. And because of that, I can rejoice whenever I face conflict, persecution, sickness, or any other suffering that may come in this world.

We will face trials; it is not an option. Whether persecution, sickness, or any other hardship, they will come.
How can we consider trials joy? It is not because there is joy in the trials themselves, but in the effects or results of said trials. When my faith is tested by trial, it is purified, and it refines into something more steadfast.
