Don't Worry - Be Thankful!
There is a lot to cause us anxiety these days. Just turn on CNN or read newspaper headlines: unarmed youth being shot and killed by police; political candidates that are less than stellar; a terrorist driving a truck into a crowd; ISIS on the rise; economies plummeting, and it goes on and on. Then there are our own individual concerns: marital concerns; financial issues; family problems, health challenges to name a few. How do we not worry? How can anyone stay calm in these turbulent times? Well, God tells us not to worry ourselves sick over anything, large or small. Instead of occupying our minds with the cares of this world and with things we have no control over, we should just talk things over with the One who is in control of everything and can make a difference! Remember what God has already done. Look at what He's doing now. Look ahead to what He's going to do---and thank Him. As we pour out our praise and thank Him for His goodness and His faithfulness, worry melts away. Our hearts and minds will be flooded with peace that only God can give. Our situations may be exactly the same---but our attitudes won't be!
