As regards the gospel, they [Israel] are enemies for your [Gentiles] sake.
As far as the gospel message of salvation goes, the Jews and the Gentiles were on opposite sides
But as regards election, they [Israel] are beloved for the sake of their[Israel] forefathers.
but on the other hand , as far as "election" and choice go, God chose Israel as His treasured possession and made a covenant with their patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
alternative
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
Despite current circumstances, God's call cannot be broken: whatever God gives (e,g, His Word, His promise, His blessings) He cannot take back.
For just as you [Gentiles] were at one time disobedient to God
Even though the Gentiles initially rejected God's sovereignty and chose to worship other gods, and so God rejected them;
but now have received mercy because of their [Israel] disobedience ,
now the Gentiles are receiving God's favor
concessive
so they [Israel] too have now been disobedient
while Israel is also rejecting God and choosing to worship otherods,
in order that by the mercy shown to you [Gentiles] they [Israel] also may now receive mercy .
with the result that the Gentiles now have the opportunity to hear and receive the salvation message.
actionresult
ground
For God has consigned all to disobedience ,
This is all a part of God's plan. He allowed free will and the chance to accept or reject the Savior
that he may have mercy on all.
Why? because His purpose was to show Himself to be a merciful and forgiving God.
