The Central Idea: Spirit-filled women obey their husbands like the church obeys Jesus Explanations: The lack of the verb (or the supplied verb in some ancient MSS), indicates that the this passage is a further explanation of the "submitting to one another" in verse 21. This is not controversial however, since verse 24 says the same thing with the the verb and then goes further by stating the the obedience is to be ἐν παντί Insights: I find it fascinating that Paul does not supply the verb submit in either exhortation here. Both times you have to go back to the main verb to see what Paul is requiring. First, to the Spirit-filled adverbial participle of verse 21 and second to the way the submission of the church in verse 24. Questions:
