inference
In a world dominated by #blessed tags, God reveals what is truly considered blessed. Psalm One is about the blessed life—how it is achieved, and what comes of it.
Note here the relationship between the 'blessed' man of verse one, and the way of the righteous. Blessing comes through being made right with God. The delight we have in the Law of God, and our continual meditation on it, must lead us to the righteousness of Christ, a greater righteousness than that of the scribes and pharisees (cf. Matt 5:20)
What do I truly delight in? Where is the seat and source of my joy? Is it in the Law of God?
Where does my mind wander to? In my 'wish-dreams', what is it that plays over in my mind? What pursuits do I stretch my mind in? Do I hold onto an unquenchable thirst for the depths and riches of God's Word?
This description, given as a positive/negative relationship, hold the key to understanding how 'blessing' is obtained.
This positive/negative relationship shows the reason why the man is called 'blessed'.
What God calls 'blessed' and what the world considers 'blessed' are two seperate realities. So often the righteous may grow discouraged at the seeming 'blessed' life of those apart from Christ, however, God says that he knows the way of the righteous—and what seems one way on earth is not its true reality. Be encouraged. The so-called blessings of this world are short lived.
