Notes
Truth about God: God send His own son not to condemn people but to bring life to them. The son of God condemned sin in his body to fulfill the demanded righteousness of the law in the believer. Truth about man: Without Christ, man is under the condemnation through the law of sin and death. Man cannot fulfill the demands of the law because of the weakness of the body. In Christ there is no condemnation, because another law, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made the believer free. What to confess: I carry condemnation with me which comes from false standards of this world. I appreciate the truth of being free in Christ too little. Help Lord, to actively remember Your great liberating work today. Vers 1 The condition for "no condemnation" is to be "in Christ". Out of being "in Christ" comes the walk after the Spirit. To see a walk after the Spirit as condition for "no condemnation" is wrong. "No condemnation" is for those who are "in Christ" and this is by faith alone (Rm 3:24). However, to be "in Christ" and to walk after the Spirit cannot be separated. The one who is "in Christ" walks after the Spirit.
