Exposition Teaching Notes : v.6: The "big idea" for this section. Previously, Paul speaks negatively about human/worldly wisdom. Here he explains God's Wisdom. v.6b-9: Exp of 6a: God's Wisdom Explained by contrasting it with worldly wisdom (6b-d) Contra God's wisdom, which is not of this age, or of those who will meet their end. (7-9) God's wisdom is a mystery hidden predestined before the ages for the purpose of the Christian's glorification not understood by the worldly people Which is why they killed Jesus But the God's Word says they will not & can not understand it. v.10-13 (10a) This is the grounding idea for 6a. To be explained in 10b-13 (10b-11) The Spirit is able to reveal God's Wisdom because He, being God, truly knows God. (12) We have received the Spirit, so He can empower us to comprehend the wisdom of God.
