For those that are perishing, the gospel is foolishness,
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
But , for those that are being saved, it is God's power.
but it is God’s power to us who are being saved.

As it is written:
For it is written:
God will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and will set aside the understanding of the experts.
and I will set aside the understanding of the experts.

Where is the philosopher?
Where is the philosopher?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the debater of this age?
Where is the debater of this age?
God has made the world's wisdom into foolishness.
Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish?
Since the world, with the wisdom God gave them, didn't come to know God through wisdom,
For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom,
It made God happy to save those who believe through the foolishness preached.
God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of the message preached.
The Jews wanted signs
For the Jews ask for signs
and the Greeks wanted wisdom,
and the Greeks seek wisdom,
But we preach Christ crucified,
but we preach Christ crucified,
which is a stumbling block to the Jews
a stumbling block to the Jews
and foolishness to the gentiles.
and foolishness to the Gentiles.
However to those God called,
Yet to those who are called,
both Jews and Greeks,
both Jews and Greeks,
Christ is God's power and God's wisdom!
Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom,
ground
because God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom!
because God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom,
and God's weakness is stronger than human strength!
and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.

Notes**
The gospel -the good news that Christ was crucified for our sins, taking the wrath and punishment we deserved, and then resurrecting on the third day destroying death- this message is foolishness, an insane, useless story to those who belong to the world. But to us who are being saved, It is God's power! The world boasts about their wisdom, the philosopher, the scholar, the debater of this age think they have the answers and meaning to everything. The passage goes to say that God's foolishness, is wiser than man's wisdom. This is not to say that God is ever foolish, but it is to imply the nothingness of this world's wisdom. And that's why it pleased God to save those who believe through a message that to this world seems foolish. But it is God's power and wisdom, Christ. The world seeks signs and wisdom. They devote their entire lives to finding the meaning of life. God chose to freely show us his own wisdom in Christ, but to the world, God's wisdom seems crazy. But to those God called, Christ is God's wisdom and power! Anyone who places their faith in Christ, will have this wisdom abiding in them. Thank you Lord for freely showing us your wisdom, that is Christ. I pray that we would spread this message of the cross, the message displaying God's wisdom.
