Topic - Spiritually Blessed in Christ Subject : Exegetical idea: Subject: what is the question the text is asking? (3-14) Why should God be praised? Complement: God is to be praised because he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ and through Christ (3): Specifically these blessings are: 1st, God chose us for the praise his glorious grace (4-6); 2nd, the Son has redeemed us (7-12); In Christ we have been redeemed, the forgiveness for guilt of sin We have red/forg because of the riches of God's grace This grace was lavished on us (how?) in all wisdom and insight by means of making known to us the mystery of his will (hidden but now revealed: his plan to unite all things in him) grounded in his good pleasure which he planned/predetermined plan in Christ so that in God's time table he unte all things in him (mystery) In Christ we have been appointed/chosen as God's inheritance because have been predestined according to God's purpose and sovereign so that those who hope in Christ before the uniting of al lthings, we might praise his glory. In short, God has sovereignly and graciously acted on our behalf in salvation as part of uniting all things. Homiletical Idea: Subject: (3-14) Why should God be praised?
