Paul seeks to answer the question that his reader would have most certainly had after reading chapter 1. Namely, "if this, then what advantage is their in being a Jew?" More explicitly, "what advantage do I have in being a Jew?" What does circumcision get me? Is there any benefit to being a Jew? Paul contends that there is great benefit "in every way" to being a Jew. Is that Spiritual as well as physical? Paul begins the benefits by stating that the Jews were entrusted with the very words of God. This is the line that the Word/Logos came through. That the message of salvation to the world came through the Jews. Paul further contends and repeats later "how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news."
