I changed my labels for 10b-10c after reading Schreiner, who (I believe) rightly categorized these a bit more particularly than I had (10b as concessive and 10b-10c as an inference from 10a). Before, I had 10b as a negative and 10a-10c as an If-Then.

TRANSLATION GRAMMAR (From Schreiner) In verse 10, the ei represents a fulfilled condition " Since..." The men clause should be interpreted as a concessive, " Even though the body is dead..." dia dikaiosunhn is causal: "... because of righteousness" EXEGESIS RESPONSE Father, thank you for your Spirit. Those who walk in the Spirit experience life and peace. I confess that often I do not walk in the Spirit but in my own strength in the flesh I aim to please men and you. But none can please you in the flesh. I pray, Lord, that you would have mercy on me, help me to put my flesh to death and infuse my soul with life beyond measure! You resurrected the Son, O Spirit, please, work mightily in me for your fame, for your glory. I know that my best is located therein. I long for life, not death. I long for God, for his beauty, his joy, his love, etc. There is nothing worthwhile outside of Christ. Yet how often I forget! Help me, O God, according to your unfailing love and great compassion! I am weak, and often sinful. Have mercy on me, a sinner. For Christ's sake, amen.
