Verses 8 and 9 seem to be a restatement with a slightly different emphasis. One emphasizes the delivery of the message and v 9 the receiving of the message. How do I express the relationship between the two using the arcing relationships as defined here? V7a states the negative. The positive is implied by the fact that there is a negative so no positive is identifiable in the argument. This is a subjective argument that seeks to elicit an emotional response in the hearers that is essentially the same as Paul's response. Sometimes you have to get yourself worked up, so Paul is getting the Galatians worked up. Are you angry? Paul is angry. He is about to take off his shoe and pound it on the podiuma and throw it at someone. Have you assessed the value of the gospel properly? Do you love people? Alternatively, Are you alarmed? Are you saying to yourself - Have I believed the right gospel? Am I accursed or am I blessed by God? Does this motivate you to make every effort to understand the gospel so that I can know whether I am under God's blessing or if I am being opposed by God and give myself an opportunity to repent? There is a sense here that an essential element of the message of Christianity is at stake. The gospel is vitally important and it is being distorted and made unrecognizable. The Galatians need to have the gospel restated and redefined so that they do not become accursed like those who are trying to deceive them. Accursed is very strong. The gospel is intended to bring a sense of blessing (4:15) but the false teachers are bringing a message that produces the opposite effect; that of cursing and so the natural effect is that they would be accursed; so Paul proclaims it to be so. Let the natural consequences of their unnatural gospel fall on them; don't let them escape detection and judgement.

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ
and are turning to a different gospel--
not that there is another one,
but there are some who trouble you
and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you,
let him be accursed.
conditional
As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received,
let him be accursed.
For am I now seeking the approval of man,
or of God?
Or am I trying to please man?
If I were still trying to please man,
I would not be a servant of Christ.
