Therefore, a laying aside falsehood, b speak truth each one of you with his neighbor , for we are c members of one another.

Διὸ ἀποθέμενοι τὸ ψεῦδος
let each one of you u speak the truth with his neighbor,
λαλεῖτε ἀλήθειαν ἕκαστος μετὰ τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ,

μᾶλλον δὲ κοπιάτω

ἐργαζόμενος ταῖς [ἰδίαις] χερσὶν τὸ ἀγαθόν,

to share with anyone in need.
μεταδιδόναι τῷ χρείαν ἔχοντι.
Let no 1 a unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for b edification 2 according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
b Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths,
πᾶς λόγος σαπρὸς ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν μὴ ἐκπορευέσθω,
but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion,
ἀλλʼ εἴ τις ἀγαθὸς πρὸς οἰκοδομὴν τῆς χρείας,
that it may give c grace to those who hear.
ἵνα δῷ χάριν τοῖς ἀκούουσιν.

καὶ περιπατεῖτε ἐν ἀγάπῃ,
l as Christ loved us and m gave himself up for us, a n fragrant o offering and sacrifice to God.
καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς καὶ παρέδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν προσφορὰν καὶ θυσίαν τῷ θεῷ εἰς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας.
