Main point summary
Paul calls the Philippians to ‘have the same mind". He explains that being of one mind looks like living a life of self-sacrifice and illustrates this life of self-sacrifice through Christ’s example in the incarnation, cross and exaltation. Paul concludes that we should work out our salvation, embracing God’s work in us according to His good pleasure (and glory).

ground
Being united with one another identifies a community that is being transformed into the image of Christ. Those who are in Christ, who recieve His grace will bear fruits of the character of Christ.
Being of one mind to put others before oneself is not a side requirement of the gospel but the heartbeat of the incarnation, death and exaltation of Christ that He invites us into.
The first explanation (manner) Paul gives regarding being of one mind is sharing in one love. Being of one mind is not primarily a theological matter but a matter of the love we have been brought into.
God is glorified through Christ's divine exaltation. God's glory will also be displayed through working salvation in us. This passage calls us to a life of preferring others like Christ. This is impossible unless God works in us. God will work in us (through the earlier mentioned participation of the Holy Spirit, comfort in love, encouragement in Christ) for His good pleasure. His good pleasure involves His individual, communal and cosmic plan of salvation.
Quotation of: Isaiah 45:23 This passage is a prophecy of YHWH being exalted. Paul is saying Jesus will be exalted as God.
