Phrase v28-30
notes
Devotional Thought
We must be those who remind ourselves, and one another of the truths of the gospel - our election before the creation of the world, our gospel call, our justification through Christ alone, and our eventual glorification. If we know these truths, and constantly hold them dear, then we will be able to trust God through all of life's adversities (from sleepless nights with newborns, to the loss of loved ones) because we know that we will spend eternity in glory.

I believe this is the ground of 28a. The reasons we can KNOW that all things work together for good, is because the ultimate good is glorification. As in, "we KNOW this BECAUSE..."

τῇ γὰρ ἐλπίδι ἐσώθημεν• ἐλπὶς δὲ βλεπομένη οὐκ ἔστιν ἐλπίς• ὃ γὰρ βλέπει τίς ἐλπίζει;
