The Father and Son are both the source of grace and peace to the Galatians, but through different means: The Son through his death (4a), the Father through his sovereignty (4b). They are motivated by the glory of God the Father (5) - not the forgiveness of sins. The Galatians, however, benefit the grace of God and peace with him as the Son glorifies the Father through his death.
