Central Idea: As a teacher of the law, Nicodemus should have recognized that a man must be born both naturally (reference to being a Jew?) and by the spirit according to Ez. 26:35-37. Jesus uses a parable of wind blowing to illustrate why Nicodemus not only did not, but could not see it. It is not by his own willing, but by the will of God. - How can Nicodemus say that Jesus has come from God. Is it by the Spirit in him? is the Spirit prompting him? Is it his own human logic?
