Central Idea Jesus takes a situation where men are acting in faith and uses it to demonstrate priorities. Explanations The entire pericope is a progression from arriving bold actions to forgiving to healing to amazement. Within these progressions there are situations that deserve a response. Even though they are slightly separated, I would contend that Jesus' action of forgiving was for the purpose of demonstrating the scribes' hipocracy. Insights It was enlightening to see the strong progression of events through this passage moving from arrival to amazement.
