Central Idea Jesus saw the needs of the people, and he acted to helped them because of his abilities. Explanations A synagogue official came, progressing to his request. The situation was the official’s request, and the response was Jesus following him with his disciples. The action that the official wanted was laying hands on his daughter with the purpose of bringing her back to life. The actions progress, then, from Jesus getting up, following, and his disciples following as well. The woman touched Jesus’ cloak by coming up behind him for the purpose of making a request. The action would be touching Jesus’ garment with the result of healing. This explains her actions. After the demon is cast out in 33, the result is both that he could speak, and that the crowds were amazed. Some of the sub-stories seem like just a series of events, but others feel like there is progression in the narrative. Insights This is probably the most challenging arcing I have done. It is difficult to manage the different places where some actions affect what comes next but is also affected by what came previously.

two blind men followed Him,
κράζοντες καὶ λέγοντες• ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, υἱὸς Δαυίδ.
crying out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"
