Central Idea Not everyone understand what Jesus is doing, but Jesus is inviting more to come understand and be part of the Father-Son relationship God is intending for those who are not too arrogant. Explanations The action of Jesus was praise, and the purpose was because doing this was pleasing in the Father’s sight. This progresses to understanding the ways of the Father, which only the Son has access to, and those to whom the Son wishes to reveal the Father. And because of all this, Jesus invites more people to know the Father by knowing the Son. Jesus is telling us he wants to reveal the Father to us, as well. Insights The connection between these passages was not obvious to me until I did this arcing.
