Bible Study Outline
Have you ever gone through any form of persecution because of your faith? If so, please share it with us in one paragraph. (Read the passage) Faith and Love Our faith in God should be constantly growing. In John 13:35, Jesus said that the world will know that we are His disciples by the love we have for one another. Therefore, it should be our aim to grow in loving one another. Are you growing in faith and love? Endure Suffering The Thessalonians remained steadfast and didn't lose their faith in God through the persecutions they went through and in their present afflictions. What does it mean to endure suffering? Righteous Judgment of God The judgment is twofold: God will repay with affliction those who afflict Christians. That is, the ones who do not know God and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. God will grant relief to those who are afflicted This judgment will take place on the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This should motivate us to endure suffering. Knowing the righteous judgment of God, how does it change your perspective on suffering? Evidence of the Righteous Judgment Suffering is evidence of God's righteous judgment because we suffer on account of His kingdom. Suffering for the kingdom makes us worthy of the Kingdom. Another motivation to endure suffering. Does this motivate you to endure suffering?

Your faith and love are increasing exponentially. Therefore, we boast of you for not compromising and losing your trust in God during your tribulations and this is proof of God's righteous judgment, for when Jesus comes He will revenge against the ones who do not know God and those who have denied the Gospel.

We ought to continually express our gratitude to God because of you, our beloved brothers and sisters.
as is right,
Why? Because it is the appropriate thing to do,
because your faith is growing abundantly,
for two reasons, 1] your faith is increasing exponentially,
and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.

when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
Nothing in 7b is related in a temporal way to anything in 8a-b. The "when" in 7b looks back to 6 and 7a; therefore, 7b-8b should have the T label compared with 6-7a. 8a-b could be the Manner of 7b.

Oh, I see what you mean
Brent Karding
This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God,
The "this" here in 5a is referring back to 4b-c, not to all of 3-4, I'd say. So 5-8 should be an Explanation only of 4b-c.
Isaac Dimba
Okay
Brent Karding
and in the afflictions that you are enduring
I don't think that there's an important order between 4b-c, where 4b needs to come first. So Series would be better.
Isaac Dimba
While memorizing this passage, I noticed the series rather than progression that I thought it was.

Grace to you
I see you've discovered the extra relationships in the Discourse module! :) But the Both-And relationship, according to its definition, is to relate two propositions that are suprisingly both true or both false. In 2a-b and 3c-d, therefore, Series would be more accurate.
Isaac Dimba
Yes :)
Thanks for the explanation.
