How is man, made righteous before God? According to the scriptures, no one is made righteous before God by works. It is by grace that we have been saved through faith. Abraham was considered righteous by God because of his faith in God. Gen 15:6; Galatians 3:3-6 During the time of Noah, the people of the earth did evil in the sight of the Lord. In Gen 6:5 , God expresses the evilness of man, "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." In Gen 6:6 , He even regrets why He created man. That's how bad it was in the sight of the Lord. And this is no different from the times we are living in now, human beings are sinful by nature. We are evil continually. God, on the other hand, is Holy and righteous, He cannot be where sin is. God is merciful and just. So if God is merciful and just, how does He deal with this situation? For if He is just, then He must deal with sin. And if He is merciful, then He must show mercy. In this passage, it reveals how God's justice and mercy play out. Noah, even though God saw the sinfulness of man, he was called righteous. verse 9 says, "These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God." Even though the earth was filled with sin, there was one man who was righteous in the sight of the Lord. Even now, even though the earth is filled with sin, God still finds righteous people in this generation. How is that? Does God show favoritism? Absolutely not. Let's see how He does it in Noah's time. Because of the sinful state of the earth, God tells this man, Noah, His plan of destroying the earth with a flood. He instructs him to build an ark so that He may save him from the flood that is to come. And He also gives him instructions on how to make the ark. He is not to enter the ark alone though, he goes in with his household and also the animals to be kept safe from the flood. God destroying the earth with a flood it's Him dealing with sin. This is His justice. Sin must be punished. In the same way, God will deal with sin at the second coming of Christ. And in the same way, Noah, who was considered righteous, was told about the earth being destroyed by the flood and that he should make an ark so that he may not be destroyed together with the sinful, God has also told the righteous in our generation of His plan to punish the sinful and the way out of that punishment. And how are we to be saved from the wrath that is to come? In verse 18, God tells Noah that He will establish His covenant with him. God promised a new covenant in Jeremiah 31:31-34, a new covenant that will be written in our hearts. This new covenant came by Jesus dying on the cross. In Mark 14:22-25, Jesus inaugurates the eucharist saying, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many." Therefore, for those who believe in Christ, God makes a new covenant with them. Those who believe in Jesus Christ will not be destroyed together with the sinful. He will establish a new covenant with them by the blood of Jesus Christ. God has provided a way for us to be justified in His sight and to show us mercy. This was made possible through Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Those who have believed in the gospel of Christ are made righteous in the sight of God. All of us are sinners and the wrath of God is rightfully upon us. The only way that we can be free from this is by believing in the gospel of Christ. Apart from Christ, non is righteous in the sight of God. There is no other way that we can be saved from the wrath of God apart from Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 11:7, "By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith." In verse 22, we see the obedience of Noah. He obeyed, not some, but all that the Lord had commanded him. As mentioned in Hebrews 11, through obedience, he became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. He didn't become righteous by what he did, but by faith in God. And so, the same way Noah obeyed when He was commanded to build the ark, may we also do likewise by believing in Jesus Christ to have the righteousness that comes by faith in the resurrected Jesus. The ark was to keep Noah and his household as mentioned in 1 Peter 3:20-21, from the wrath of God upon the sinful. In the same way, God will keep us from the wrath that is to come through believing in Jesus Christ.

I will destroy all flesh for the earth is filled with violence, therefore, Noah, make yourself an ark. And Noah obeyed as he was commanded.
A Main Point Summary would be better stated in the third person, in my judgment. So: "God promised to destroy all flesh...."

Oh, ok
Brent Karding
Noah did this;
Excellent arc! Nearly every relationship is well-chosen, and your paraphrase makes the logic you see clear. Very well done.

The main change I would make is a small one: making 22 the Result of 14-21. 22 isn't a logical result of what God said, but a temporal result, and so Ac-Res works best.
Isaac Dimba
Yah, I see what you mean.
