I have shown the two commands in this passage to be in progression: "Hope, and furthermore, be holy." However, I could also say that they are in an action-purpose relationship: "Hope in order to be holy." Currently, I feel a nudge toward the former rather than the latter. Note also that I see the two participles in v13 to be participles of manner (Wallace categories). I am more and more convinced that the particple in v14 is an imperitival participle and should be translated as a finite imperitive.
