Summary In order for the exiles to love one another, they have to put away some relational sins. In order to do that, they are to long, to want, to desire, to crave for the good nourishment of pure, spiritual milk, i.e. the gospel and the LORD's goodness. If they do so, growth into salvation will occur. The LORD Observations The LORD does not want believers to have malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy or to do slander. v.1 The LORD provides the means to put the above away by providing pure spiritual milk v.2 The LORD desires that this salvation is something to be matured into, over time and by feeding on good nourishment v.2 The LORD is good v.3 Questions/Thoughts It is amazing how much the LORD supplies for us to put away sins Our Creator, who knows us, also knows how we change We change by wanting and feeding on good things I think that if we try to just put away sins by our own will power and strength, we cannot do it. We would not be strong enough for it. Summary The LORD is good, and He means for us to know, taste, experience and grow in this goodness - of His salvation, His new birth, or the Gospel, of His very self. He wants us to become holy, and love one another, by wanting, longing, thirsting for the good spiritual milk of His Word, His Gospel and His goodness. Take Away LORD, how I want to want You. How it makes sense that those who are poor and thirsty and hungry for You are truly blessed (Matthew 6). Please take my small desire and longing, and increase it. But do so in a very welcoming, warm, and enticing way. LORD, give me a good spiritual palate, to discern the good spiritual milk and food. And so that I would find distasteful, unpalatable, the rottenness and death of sins.
