Hello Everyone, I did this in conjunction with the google doc by Trevor located here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11_lonxhvuqOrTXdID2WYudm5sPUiAysI9NUUJ_747Ck/edit?pli=1 I also am finding it helpful to do so while looking at Dr Piper's LAB. I think I am beginning to pull things together more! Characters Jesus Christ God (the Father) Elect Exiles Jesus Christ Jesus is precious and valuable because: Was foreknown before the world was v.20, God did not look around for a Saviour/Ransom, it was already known from eternity was made manifest in these last times (times starting when Jesus came to earth, Hebrews 1:1-12, 9:26, 1 Corinthians 10:11, 1 Peter 4:7,4:17) v.20, Jesus was made known to the world as something planned beforehand Through Jesus, the elect exiles become believers in God v.21 Was raised from the dead by God (the Father) v.21 God (the Father) gave Jesus glory v.21 God did all this so that we may have faith in Him v.21, for our sakes v.20 Questions/Thoughts How valuable do I consider Christ? I would say not enough What can I do to help myself consider Christ more infinitely valuable? What prayer can I pray? Summary Jesus Christ is infinitely valuable because He is from before the beginning of the world, was made known when He came, His work is for our sakes, and through Him we have faith in God. Jesus is also glorified and has been raised from the dead. God faith, trust is to be in God v.21 this faith, trust is through Christ v.21 raised Christ from the dead v.21 gave Christ glory v.21 above so that elect exile's faith and hope in God v.21 Questions/Thoughts It is stunning the extent God went to save, redeem and sanctify us. Oh my wretched unbelieving heart that is so slow to grasp this fully! Summary God chose Christ from before the world began, made Him manifested when He came to earth, raised and glorified Christ so that through Jesus, we may have faith and trust in Him. Elect Exiles were the reason why Jesus was already planned to save and made manifest v.20 believers of God through Christ v.21 so that their faith and hope will be in God v.21 therefore conduct in hope and fear v.21 Questions/Thoughts God went to such a degree for us, not that we are in ourselves good (Eph 2:1 -4) but out of love for us. Summary In order for us to have faith, hope and trust in God, God planned and executed the whole process of salvation and sanctification through Jesus. Take Away How it is for me to value God the Father, Son and Spirit much more highly than I do By valuing God more fully, my heart will be more delighted in Him, and out of that, I can then rightly be motivated to do holy deeds.
