-This Scribe came to Jesus probably to see what he had heard about him, that is his unique wisdom. Maybe he had asked to himself the question he asked Jesus, and sincerely looking for an answer, and no to test Jesus, asked it. His sincerity is shown in Jesus response on verse 34. -I bet Jesus loved to answer this one, because it’s in the root of His glory. Once more, Jesus affirms that God is not interested in merely external offerings and sacrifices, but He loves everything we do, including offerings and sacrifices, out of a heart who loves Him and delights in Him above all else. Beyond obeying God out of duty, which for many Christians is the sign of regeneration (for you are not doing your will, but God’s), God delights in a heart that loves Him with all strength and therefore, will obey Him, not out of duty, but out of love and devotion to his beloved Father. And from the love that the Father has bestowed upon him, he is able to love others. -Jesus, helps us love the Father as you love Him and delight on Him.

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another,
Cuando uno de los escribas se acercó, los oyó discutir,
and seeing that he answered them well,
y reconociendo que les había contestado bien,
asked him,
le preguntó:

"Which commandment is the most important of all?"
¿Cuál mandamiento es el más importante de todos?
Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Jesús respondió: El más importante es: "ESCUCHA, ISRAEL; EL SEÑOR NUESTRO DIOS, EL SEÑOR UNO ES;
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
Y AMARAS AL SEÑOR TU DIOS CON TODO TU CORAZON, Y CON TODA TU ALMA, Y CON TODA TU MENTE, Y CON TODA TU FUERZA."
The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
El segundo es éste: "AMARAS A TU PROJIMO COMO A TI MISMO."
There is no other commandment greater than these."
No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos.

And the scribe said to him, "You are right, Teacher.
Y el escriba le dijo: Muy bien, Maestro;
You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him.
con verdad has dicho que EL ES UNO, Y NO HAY OTRO ADEMAS DE EL;
And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
Y QUE AMARLE CON TODO EL CORAZON Y CON TODO EL ENTENDIMIENTO Y CON TODAS LAS FUERZAS, Y AMAR AL PROJIMO COMO A UNO MISMO, es más que todos los holocaustos y los sacrificios.

And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."
Viendo Jesús que él había respondido sabiamente, le dijo: No estás lejos del reino de Dios.
And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.
Y después de eso, nadie se aventuraba a hacerle más preguntas.
