If we recieve the words of the Lord and then treasure it up,by making our ears attentive to what the Lord has to say every day,calling out to God day by day for understanding,if we seek it as if we seek a valuable treasure ,then thats the moment we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God,why did the text say so? because from the mouth of the Lord comes knowledge and understanding,from him stores unblemished truths.Once we understand the fear of the Lord and gain knowledge that wells from him then we will understand righteousness and justice and equity meaning every good path for us to walk and why are we able to understand?,because the wisdom from the Lord will come to our hearts and it will be pleasant to us and will guard us and will watch over us against the evil path,the path that forsakes the Lord and delight in evil ways.

True knowledge and fear what is true knowledge? what does it mean to fear God? how important is knowledge and fear? verse 1-4 is the "if" statement that sets the following verses to be true if the conditions are met hence i use an if-then relationship there.In verse 1 it says "My son,if you recieve my words,and treasure up my commandments with you,now,the first part we can say is quite clear enough to understand,"if you recieve my words",but the latter,"treasure up my commandments with you",what does it mean? If we think of treasuring something,the process is this: we recieve something,then we keep it there and thats it,because it is a treasure it is meant to be kept,like money in the banks,or jewelry kept in the box,we keep something precious to us,and people recognize its worth thats why they keep it.But here in Proverbs there is another kind of treasuring,a treasuring that seeks.We know we cannot treasure something we dont have,but here we treasure something,we find the value of something by seeking it continiously.As we continue in verses 2 to 4,we can see the manner how it is done (we show the value of something by keep on seeking it,by being attentive)

The Importance of Words of the Lord Proverbs 2:1-15 Proverbs 2:1-4 "If" you receive the words,commands,instructions of the Lord,with all your mind,heart and strenght "Then" you will arrive into 2 Conclusions: 1.) You will understand the fear of the Lord and then find the knowledge about God.(Proverbs 2:5) 2.) You will understand every good path away from those who do wickedness.(Proverbs 2:9-15) What is the Grounds behind all of this?(Proverbs 2:6-8) The words of the Lord is guarding the paths of His saints. What can we learn from Proverbs 2:1-15 ? Head : I should understand that i will never arrived to understanding of who God is and what does it mean and how to fear the Lord,unless i seek and treasure his commandments(v.1-5) It is God who give us new desires to walk in His way(v.10). God is the source and the one who keep us from evil ways through his words. The Lord is the source not us,our intellect nor our efforts. The words of the Lord will keep your way by setting boundaries between good and evil. I should always be aware that there are those who do not delight in the words of the Lord nor seek it. Scripture References: Job 28:28 - to fear the Lord is wisdom itself. Psalm 111:10 - those who fears the Lord have good understanding. Proverbs 1:7 - foolish people do not fear the Lord. Relevant Doctrines: Doctrine about the sufficiency of Scriptures. - the passage teaches the importance and sufficiency of scripture in knowing God and the paths of righteousness. Doctrine of Total Depravity or the Doctrine of the will of man. - the passage also reflects the sinfulness of man.How the will of man is into sinning deliberately. Heart : I am to revere God in his graciousness and provision for security because of his word.And fear him in his wrath against sin. I should delight in his word,i should long for his word. I should not delight with those who do evil. Hands : How should i act differently? I should be more eager to seek the Lord. What motivation does the text say? This is the promise of the text,that if i seek the word of the Lord and treasure it,then i will know God,what does it mean to fear him and to walk according to his ways.
