I titled this passage 'God's Sweet Scandalous Secret' for two reason's. First of all, the secret that Paul is revealing was scandalous to the Jewish folks in his day, Gentiles being co-heirs with Jews in the promises of God.... scandalous.(Cf. Acts 22:21) Second, Paul is writing this passage so that the Ephesians would not 'lose heart' at his imprisonment. He is giving them hope by telling them God's secret and his priviledge in sharing in the ministry. There are not many things more hope giving than sweet aroma. Paul does a lot of explaining about his ministry. He does this to show the greatness of the mystery of Christ and the privilege it is for him to share in this massive ministry. I think that is why he says that it was given by grace and emphasizes that he is the least of the saints.
