John 12 Sermon

Even at Jesus' Triumphal Entry, it turns out those who praised him did not understand him, and did not believe him. But this was all in accordance with God's plan. While those who praised him would later condemn him, his death would lead to life for the Gentiles.

Τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος πολὺς ὁ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ἔρχεται ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα

So Jesus said to them, "The light is among you yet a little while longer.

περιπατεῖτε ὡς τὸ φῶς ἔχετε,

which says: "Lord, who has believed our report?

καὶ ὁ βραχίων κυρίου τίνι ἀπεκαλύφθη;

And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?"

διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἠδύναντο πιστεύειν,

For this reason they were not able to believe,
