John 2:1-11
On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee,
and Jesus' mother was there.
Jesus was also invited to the wedding with his disciples.
And when the wine ran out,
Jesus' mother said to him,
"They don't have wine."
Then Jesus said to her,
τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί, γύναι;
"What is this to me and to you, Miss?
My hour has not yet come."
His mother said to the servants,
"Whatever he tells you, do."
Now six stone water jars for Jewish purification were there,
each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
Jesus said to them,
"Fill the water jars."
So they filled them up to the top.
Then he said to them,
"Now draw some out
and bring it to the master of the feast."
So they took it.
But when the master of the feast tasted the water which became wine,
and did not know from where it came
(but the servants who had drawn out the water knew),
the master of the feast called the groom
and said to him,
"Everyone first sets out the better wine,
and whenever they have drunk freely, then the worse [wine].
But you have kept the better wine until now!"
This was the beginning of the signs
which Jesus did in Cana of Galilee,
and he revealed his glory,
and his disciples believed in him.
