My main purpose was to arc 1 - 4 but I ended up doing the entire book, or at least trying to. Ultimately, I feel that Jude is saying that his basis or ground for calling Christians to contend for the faith is because there are ungodly people who have made their way into the Body and are spreading a very dangerous and poisonous teaching that is twisting the grace of God into a license, they are also denying the lordship of Christ. Everything else in the entire book is either an example of what these ungodly people are like, a comparison as to how they act, or an encouragement as how Believers ought to act in light of them. Jude1:1-2 is Jude's introduction of himself and his opening benediction. Jude 1:3-4 is Jude's reason for writing. Jude 1:5-16 is either Old Testament examples or comparisons in nature to what what these ungodly people are like. Jude 1:17-23 is how we ought to act in contrast to them. Jude 1:24-25 is his closing prayer. This means that the largest section of the book is a support of his reason for Believers to contend for the faith. I feel that Jude is saying, "Jonathan, you have to fight...fight for the faith that was given to you because there are wickedly persuasive people who are secretly twisting grace into license while they subvert the lordship of Jesus. Jonathan, ultimately, your fight will be to preserve the true grace and lordship of Christ." I. Introduction (1-2) II. Reason for writing (3-4) III. Examples and Encouragement in light of verses 3-4 (5-23) IV. Closing prayer (24-25)

Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation,
I felt the necessity to write to you appealing
that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.

For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt,
subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses,
did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment,
