It is always difficult to arc the introductory verses. Although this section is full of relative clauses (which by definition do not get their own proposition except in rare cases), I have decided to give them arcs. I see the paragraph working in this manner: it is a group of Series with the largest section of the paragraph (1:2-6) being about what the Gospel is. 1:1c is the Id and 1:2-6 is the Exp. [Again one could rightly make 1:2-6 one arc...I did not simply for the richness of the material] I) Paul introduces who he is bond-servant apostle set apart II) Paul clarifies what the gospel is about of God promised beforehand through prophets in the Scriptures concerning the Son III) Paul adds information about the Son His (the Father's) was born descendant of David according to the flesh was declared the Son of God raised from the dead IV) Paul tells how and why he is what he is grace received thru Christ apostleship received thru Christ both for the purpose of bringing about the obedience of faith from Gentiles
