Τοῦτο οὖν λέγω καὶ μαρτύρομαι ἐν κυρίῳ,

Therefore this I say and I testify in the Lord,

μηκέτι ὑμᾶς περιπατεῖν, καθὼς καὶ τὰ ἔθνη περιπατεῖ

that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do,

ἐν ματαιότητι τοῦ νοὸς αὐτῶν,

in the futility of their minds.

ἐσκοτωμένοι τῇ διανοίᾳ ὄντες,

being darkened in their understanding,
