This is my first arc. Please offer suggestions and feedback. All is welcome! God's Grace Is Our Teacher (11-13) Epephane (has appeared) is in the emphatic position. What has appeared is the grace of God that saves all manner of men. God's saving grace has appeared and it has come, not merely to save, but to teach us, to train us. 1) to renounce (deny, condemn) the ungodliness and worldly desires that are present within us as part of our sin nature; 2) to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Now!); 3) to wait for the very visible and very glorious return of our Lord, our Savior. God is doing this in the present, saving and instructing men how to live in these times. Christ's Glory Is Our Hope (13) God's appearing and saving grace is now instructing us how to live as we await the appearing (epiphaneian ) of Christ's glory. Christ's glory is our blessed hope, our heavenly blessing. The grounds for anticipating the 2nd Coming is what was accomplished and intended through the 1st coming. The Grounds For Our Hope (14) The grounds for our blessed hope is what Christ accomplished in the Incarnation. Outside of Us: Our Redemption from the bondage of sin and satan Inside of Us: Our Sanctification unto good works that glorify God. Application How can we know we stand in the place of those to whom grace has appeared and to whom glory will appear? 1. Is our way of living, thinking changing? 2. Does our heart long for the return of Christ? 3. Are we zealous for good works that glorify God? If not, what can we do? 1. Pray to God. Repent and ask for help? 2. Take up God's Word and read it. (Faith comes by hearing) 3. Meditate on the accomplishment of Christ on the cross. Conclusion Therefore, the evidence of God's saving grace in your life is God's training grace resulting in a desire for to see Christ's glory. The cross of Christ accomplished your redemption and ensured your sanctification and your desire is to do God's will and to see His return.
