Where does the name Spiritual CPR come from? C = Chosen in Christ, P = Predestined for adoption as sons, R = Redeeemed and forgiven in Christ. This is the progression I see within the explanation of how God has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. We are chosen first, predestined next and lastly redeemed. The first 2 are what God does FOR us while the last is what we HAVE as a result of God's choosing and predestination. All of the actions and results in this passage are grounded in God's will (5b), God's grace (7b) and God's purpose (9b). Nothing in this passage eludes to God's actions being grounded in ANYTHING we do of our own accord.

Ephesians
Ephesians 1:3-10
NT
esv
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
progression
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and blameless before him.
actionpurpose
In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ,
according to the purpose of his will,
to the praise of his glorious grace,
with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
ground
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of his grace,
which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
making known to us the mystery of his will,
according to his purpose,
which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time,
to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
