Family Devotional
Family Devotional: Ephesians 1:3-6 Would you adopt a rebel child in your family? If you knew every evil deed and thought your closest friend ever had, would you still be their friend? Chances are you would never adopt that rebel child and not be friends with that person again. You would not associate with yourself with rebellion and evil. Think about what God the Father saw in you before the world came into existence. Evil, disobedience, and unfaithfulness. Yet God the Father chose you in His Son. He set His eternal love on you. He wrote your name on His Son Jesus with no eraser. You were chosen in union with the Son. And in Him you have all spiritual blessings. Such as holiness and blamelessness so that you can stand before The Father in His Son. Your sin was upon the Son on that cross. He bore your curse so you may be blessed. And in time you would be empowered by the Spirit to live for Him and to know Him. God the Father also predestined you to adoption into His family through His Son. The same love God the Father always had for His Son decided beforehand to share that same love with you. And He demonstrated it sending His Son on the cross for you to the praise of His amazing grace! God has more love for you and I than any father or mother could ever think of! Our love for things in the world always changes. But His love for you started with Him and since God is unchanging in His love it ends with Him. Therefore His love for you will never end! He loves you because He loves you. As sons and daughters in Christ because of all the great love/grace that has been bestowed upon us, let us obey Him out of love for Him and have confidence we will get more of His grace in the future. Let His pleasures become our pleasures. For we are in union with the Son. Since God chose to love us even when we were ungodly, can we love our own enemies/neighbors? Was the reason for Him choosing you founded in you and your work or in Him? Do you have faith that He still loves you now and will continue to do so? Is God worthy of praise?
