Paul takes the opportunity to elaborate on the authority of Christ.
Ephesians 1:15-23
Though the grace that we have been given is not dependent upon our works, we are created for good works.
Ephesians 2:1-10
It seems to me that this entire passage is based upon unity in Christ.
Ephesians 2:11-22
This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.

This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:1-13
I believe that the central idea of this text is the emphasis on the one true  gospel.
Galatians 1:1-10
This passage is really a demonstration of the superiority of the Son over the angels.
Hebrews 1:5-14
The revelation of God "in these last days" is  the person of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 1:1-4
This entire passage is essentially an exposition of Psalm 95:7-11.

This was a very tricky passage for me to arc.
Hebrews 4:14-5:10
Ok, this is far and away the most difficult arc that I have ever done.
Hebrews 5:11-6:12
This passage gives us insight into the faithfulness of God and the hope that we have in the priestly character of Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 6:13-20
The author is relentless in showing that Jesus is superior to Levi.

Questions concerning this arc: 1) Is there a progression in Paul's list of blessings in Christ? Attempted Answer: I am inclined to say that this is not a progression of thought but is merely Paul abounding in praise to God by creating a list of the varous ways that he has blessed us in Christ. The reason for this is the use of kai which I translate as "also", thus showing that these are connected in a series relationship rather than a progression. We are not redeemed, then obtain an inheritance, then hear the word of truth; rather, these are all things that have been done for us in Christ. 2) How does the use of the phrase "in Christ" or "in whom" affect our understanding of the plan for the fullness of time? (i.e. is the redemption in Christ , the predestination in Christ , the blessings in Christ the description of the uniting all things under the head of Christ?) Attempted Answer: From looking at this arc, I am led to believe that structurally there is not evidence to show that the predestining, blessings, and redemption in Christ are described by the "uniting all things under the head" of Christ. That being said, I do think that these various events (predestination, redemption, blessings) are tools that enable God to complete this task. Thus the uniting all things under the authority of Christ is served by the redemption, and redemption is a necessary step in the uniting. O'Brien : Syntactically and structurally, the exposition fo the mystery in terms of the anakephalaiosis ('summing up') is the 'high point' of the eulogy...The anakephalaiosis ('summing up'), which points forward to eternity is the summit of Paul's statements.
