We are predestined to obtain an inheritance.

Paul takes the opportunity to elaborate on the authority of Christ.

It seems to me that this entire passage is based upon unity in Christ.
Ephesians 2:11-22
This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:1-6
This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:1-13
I believe that the central idea of this text is the emphasis on the one true  gospel.
Galatians 1:1-10
This passage is really a demonstration of the superiority of the Son over the angels.
Hebrews 1:5-14
The revelation of God "in these last days" is  the person of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 1:1-4
This entire passage is essentially an exposition of Psalm 95:7-11.

Hebrews 4:1-13
This was a very tricky passage for me to arc.
Hebrews 4:14-5:10
This passage gives us insight into the faithfulness of God and the hope that we have in the priestly character of Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 6:13-20
The author is relentless in showing that Jesus is superior to Levi.

The action of Christ is, once again, juxtaposed with the action of the high priest of the Levitical line.

Ok, this is far and away the most difficult arc that I have ever done. I guess this is only fitting because this is one of the most difficult passages in the Bible for me to interpret. However, from arcing the passage, I notice a few things: 1) This overall appears to be an exhortation for maturity. (5:11 - 6:3) 2) In order for this exhortation to be effective, I feel that it must be talking about believers. -->That being said, I'm not sure what to do with the analogy that the author uses. It seems to be referring to either the fruit of the faith or the fruit of the hearing of the gospel (echoes Jesus' parable of the soils). 3) The author is confident that this apostasy is not the fate of his readers. -->But this confidence does not prevent him from exhorting them to work.

Hebrews
Hebrews 5:11-6:12
NT
esv
About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain,
since you have become dull of hearing.
ground
For though by this time you ought to be teachers,
you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God.
negativepositive
You need milk,
not solid food,
for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness,
since he is a child.
ideaexplanation
But solid food is for the mature,
for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice
to distinguish good from evil.
actionpurpose
Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity,
not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
And this we will do if God permits.
inference
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened,
who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away,
to restore them again to repentance,
since they are crucifying once again the Son of God
to their own harm
actionresult
and holding him up to contempt.
series
For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it,
and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated,
progression
receives a blessing from God.
But if it bears thorns and thistles,
it is worthless and near to being cursed,
conditional
and its end is to be burned.
Though we speak in this way,
yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things--
things that belong to salvation.
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness
to have the full assurance of hope until the end,
so that you may not be sluggish,
but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
