It seems to me that this entire passage is based upon unity in Christ.
Ephesians 2:11-22
This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.

This is a very peculiar paragraph of Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:1-13
I believe that the central idea of this text is the emphasis on the one true  gospel.

This passage is really a demonstration of the superiority of the Son over the angels.

The revelation of God "in these last days" is  the person of Jesus Christ.

Questions concerning this arc: 1) How does the mystery of the Gentiles being fellow heirs with the Jews relate to the making known of the manifold wisdom of God through the church? I really like O'Brien's statement that very eixistence of the diverse body of Christ reveals the diverse wisdom of God. I think that the church does less to make the wisdom of God "manifold" through evangelism (though that is certainly one implication, for we do not have diverse converts if we do not have the gospel going to the nations) but mostly through being the diverse body that it is . O'Brien: "To sum up. The mystery...is the 'complete union of Jews and Gentiles with each other through the union of both with Christ. It is this double union with Christ and with each other which is the substance of the 'mystery.' (236)..." through the church signifies that the very existence of this new multiracial community in which Jews and Gentiles have been brought together in unity in the one body is the manifestation of God's richly diverse wisdom. Its presence is the means by which God himself discolses to the powers his own richly diverse wisdom. (246)" Hoehner: "It must be emphasized that the church does not preact to the 'powers'...but that the union of Jews and Gentiles in one body must be acknowledged by the 'powers' to be a display of the multifaceted wisdom of God. This union is an evidence of the grace of God." (462) 2) How should verse 12b be translated ( dia tes pisteos autou ) and what does this phrase mean? I'm not sure that I've heard a good argument for either that totally persuades me one way or another. I certainly lean towards the translation fo the subjective genitive, but I think conceptually it includes what Hoehner states about our faith in Christ's faithfulness on our behalf. However, I don't think grammatically it could be both. NET: "A decision is difficult here. Though traditionally translated “faith in Jesus Christ,” an increasing number of NT scholars are arguing that pistis Cristou and similar phrases in Paul (here and in Rom 3:22, 26 ; Gal 2:16, 20; 3:22 ; Phil 3:9 ) involve a subjective genitive and mean “Christ’s faith” or “Christ’s faithfulness.”...Noteworthy among the arguments for the subjective genitive view is that when pistis takes a personal genitive it is almost never an objective genitive." Hoehner: "The choice between these options is diffiult; however, the latter (objective genitive) is preferred (over subjective genitive). On the other hand, some suggest that rather than accepting the ginitive as either subjective or objective, it should include both meanings. Hence, believers have faith in Christ's faithfulness to God on behalf of the church." (467)

For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles--
if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace that was given to me for you,
namely, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation,
ideaexplanation
(the way that you would know this is) just as I have written briefly.
ground
Reading this,
you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ,

(the mystery) which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations
as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
comparison
( namely ) that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
of which I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace, which was given me according to the working of his power.

in order that to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
