2 Thessalonians 3:6-15
Now we command you, brothers, s in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

let him not eat.
temporal
For we hear that some among you c walk in idleness,

Now such persons we command
and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ
to do their work quietly
and to earn their own living. 1

Your Neg-Pos relationships in 6c-d and 7c-8a and 8b-c are right on. Very good.
Brent Karding
Hi Mildred! In your longer arc, I think verse 6 is excellent.
Brent Karding
For we hear that some among you walk in idleness,
I don't see how 11a-c could be a Concessive. Paul isn't saying, "Even though some are walking in idleness, we command them to work." 12 looks more like an Inference to me.
Brent Karding
right,
9a-b can't be a Ground for 7a-8d, since Paul isn't saying, "You know how to imitate us because we gave you an example." That sentence sounds good, but 9a-b is actually clarifying Paul's purpose in 8b-d. I would make both 8d and 9b-b a Purpose.
Brent Karding
I don't think Alternative works here. Paul isn't presenting two options: "You can avoid growing weary, or you can take note of disobedient brothers." Neg-Pos would work: "Don't do this, but rather do this." Or it could be a simple Series.

yes kuya, it is not two options..I think I will put series kuya..if my CSV in v.14-15 is right, then the mainpoint in v.14-15 is "warn the lazy christian as a brother"..

the two mainpoints of v.13-15 would then be "do not grow weary in doing good for the truly needy" and the second would be "warn a lazy christian as a brother"..

I choose series kuya because the verbs in the two mainpoints are done for two different objects. That's my idea kuya.
Brent Karding
The Purpose of 14d should be inside the Then. Think of it this way: being ashamed isn't the purpose of obeying what Paul said, as you have it, but the purpose only of taking note of that person.
Mildred Queenie CS
wow! yes kuya, I see it now.
